Pat Stanford was born in Philadelphia. Her farming family moved to Florida, looking for year-round growing seasons when she was one. She lived there until a brief stint in the Air Force took her to California.

"Fixing Boo Boo" is a gold medal winner for Florida non-fiction in the 2017 F.A.P.A. President's Book Awards. It is about what happens when a brain-injured sibling comes to live with a sister who doesn’t know what that means. It was re-released as a second edition in 2019.

"Proverbs of My Seasons; Poetry of Transition" was released in February 2019, and won gold medals in both the Poetry category as well as in Cover Design at the 2019 F.A.P.A. President's Book Awards.

"A Motley Miscellany; Misfit Poems That Fit Together" was released in September 2020 and won gold for both cover design and cookbook due to the last section with pie recipes and poems about them.

She served as President of the local rose society and is a bronze medal recipient with the American Rose Society, is Past President of the Tallahassee Writers Association as well as Past President of The Florida Authors and Publishers Association.

Pat lives in Tallahassee, Florida with her husband, a rambunctious puppy, and is currently working on a second non-fiction and a book of short stories.
